Amber Thistles
... and you thought there was only one amber type? The ones I have range from a deep "beer bottle" amber colour through to a very pale almost yellow colour. Each one is slightly different to the next.
Blue Thistles
Ranging in colour from a very pale blue to the cobalt blue that old castor oil & Vicks bottles were made in.
Blue is a fairly common colour in this design and most are the cobalt blue colour.

Green Thistles
The dark one on the very end is my Mum's old one and I have various other greens now. The third from the left is the common depression green glass but rarely seen in this design. The one on the right hand end is more a smokey colour until you hold it up to the light and you can see a green tint to the glass. Also there is not a uranium version of the thistle. Someone was selling a green thistle on ebay and claimed it glowed under black light - I paid a very high price for it only to find it did not glow at all and wasnt uranium at all - when I confronted the seller she admitted she had not tested it under UV light and gave me my money back. I doubted in the first place that these would have had uranium in them due to the cheap nature of the vases. But I still live in hope!
Amethyst Thistles
Amethyst ones come in a few different colours too - the one on the right is more reddish purple where the one on the left is a rich purple.
Some of the so called amethyst ones are more a smokey grey colour until you hold them up to the light and you will see a slight purple tint like this one.
This one is a smokey grey colour but has a tiny hint of purple and green when held up to the light.
