Different little vases I have found...
In my collection of Thistle vases I also came across similar sized or shaped little vases that caught my eye and I had to collect as well. These are some of my other vases in my collection.
Triangle vases
These little triangle ones come up for sale every so often usually in clear or amber but there are a few green ones there if you are patient (and boy do they go for big prices - over $30 for the last one I was watching!). These are 6.5cm high and again have a very heavy thick base with a plain bottom. These are possibly made by Crown Crystal Australia? Anyone confirm?
Taller ones
These ones are the taller ones of the collection at 8cm high.
Usually found in these colours but I am hoping that there is green in these too? Sometimes the clear ones have a yellowish tint to the glass due to a bit of amber glass being in the mix when made. I did see a frosted amber once but missed out on it. These ones have a star base like the thistles and may have been made in Australia - any info would be appreciated! Have just added a frosted clear/white one to my collection in Oct 2010

Waisted vases
These ones I call the "waisted" vases and I have been told they were from the 1950's. The clear one is fairly common and I got that for $2 at an op shop. It seems older than the others and has no markings on the base and either does first green one. The pink and blue & the last green one are marked "Made in Taiwan" and a "T" in a circle. Perhaps the unmarked ones were the originals and the marked ones are cheaper copies made later? Clear and blue are fairly common but I have not seen the dark pink or greens again. They measure 6.5cm high.
Petals
These are tiny versions of the Crown Crystal "Petals" vase. These ones are only 6.5cm high as compared to their larger versions. There are frosted versions of these in each colour also.
Fish vases
These are what I call my fish vases because of the shape. They are smooth on the outside with the ribs on the inside which is quite different. They are made by Sklo Union Glass Czechoslovakia and there is also a smokey grey one available. They are 8cm at the highest points. I have yet to find the smokey grey one.
Donkey and Cart containers
Donkey and cart containers - these are mainly made in the USA by
K R Haley Crystal (and some by Jeanette Glass?) - my amber one has a sticker stating it is made by K R Haley. Most of these little containers were originally sold with a foil cover over the cart part with sweets underneath. A few new ones I just got though have an indent for a cigarette so some are ashtrays. I have 3 different sizes - the blue (and clear) is the largest I have found. There is a pink one which I dont have - not sure if there are other colours available. I think these are extremely cute especially the stumpy legs on the donkeys!
