Some different "thistles" I have collected...
These ones are an elongated design which I have seen in these colours but not often. I have the feeling these are made in Czechoslovakia These ones are 7cm high and I call them my Pineapple vases, they have the star on the base like the normal thistles.
This design was made in Czechoslovakia by Bohemia Glass. These are fairly common and can be found at op shops. They are 6.5cm high and the glass is fairly thin at the bases which has a star on the bottom. I think I have seen the same design in white milk glass too.
These little vases were made in Czechoslovakia - the clear are very common - I got that one for 50c, the pale pink and blue are seen on eBay quite often too. The darker pink is less common and the green I have only once seen again - it is also uranium and possibly pretty rare.
These ones I call the bulby vases, they have a very heavy and thick base. The clear is fairly common and mine seems older than the others as it is a lot rougher. The others are all fairly smooth in finish. They have a smooth base and are a little larger than the thistles being 6.5cm tall. I havent seen these in any other colours to what I have but I am always on the lookout! Unsure of where they were made.
This style was made in Czechoslovakia and they seem to be fairly easy to find around the place. They have “Made in Czechoslovakia” on the plain base. They are taller at around 7cm. Have added a mauve one to my collection now - a strange one that is mauve under normal light/sunlight but turns pale blue under florescent light!
These ones are similar to the ones above but seem older and a little heavier - both were bought for very little money - not sure if they came in other colours - they are also made in Czechoslovakia as the clear is imprinted with this on the base but the pink is not.
A deep pink one probably made in Czechoslovakia? Quite pretty.
Another one made in Czechoslovakia but this one is more like handcut crystal and the green one is uranium. Possibly available in other colours but rarely seen (at the moment)
This is a slightly different green crystal vase with flowers on the top and a diamond base. Slightly taller than the ones above and it is also uranium
